I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to serve as President of the Hispanic Insurance and Risk Management Association (HIRMA) for the year 2023. I would like to express my gratitude to the HIRMA Board for their trust in allowing me to be part of this magnificent organization. 2020 was a challenging year as we faced a worldwide pandemic. HIRMA was tested in our efforts to continue to carry our mission of providing educational and networking opportunities to the members of the risk management and insurance communities.
For 2023, the Hispanic Insurance & Risk Management Association (HIRMA) Board of Directors includes several dedicated members and myself who have served now for several years. We are looking forward to working with three new directors and an advisor who are already developing new approaches for HIRMA in regards to social media, strategic planning, board governance and educational programs. Our goal is to grow the organization and be of greater service to risk management , insurance professionals and the community.
We continue to welcome new ideas in our ongoing effort to provide timely and relevant educational sessions. We also strive to continue to present our industry leading networking events virtually or in-person when safe to do so.
We are very excited to be launching new initiatives in 2023 including a formal mentoring program that will provide resources to students in California State University, Fullerton’s School of Risk Management and Insurance. We hope you will consider getting involved in HIRMA in 2023. We look forward to seeing you at our educational and networking events in the coming year.
